In the future advertising will grow and become more prominent compared to what it is today. This is why search engines and online adds need to better prepare themselves for whats to come.
The fact that searches are becoming more personalized can benefit as well as hurt the search engine. There are many different kinds of people using search engines for various purposes so at times tending to one type of demographic could loose the interest of many others. There are people who are usually indecisive and they need direction when it comes to searching, and it is easier to get a precise search. then you have those who love options, they like to know that they are in charge and that they have the power to choose.
It is hard to please every one but i think that when a majority find what they need in this area of convenience, then we get that customer satisfaction. If there is satisfaction with the majority, I think that that particular search engine is moving in the right direction
